Tour de Singkarak 2009

West Sumatra province have a honour to held for the first time an international big event of bicycle race, The Union Cycliste Internationale/ UCI Asia Tour 2.2. The event known as Tour de Singkarak 2009, will held on April 29 to may 03, 2009, and with total prize US $ 60,000. About over of 12 countries will join this event; 15 teams from overseas (such as: Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Netherland, German, French, Qatar, Taiwan, Switzerland, etc), and 10 teams from Indonesia. Tour de Singkarak not just only the sport event but also the tourism event for West Sumatra province.
The routes of Tour de Singkarak had total distance about 462 KM, those were:
Stage 1; Team time trial at Padang city, takes 4 KM.
Stage 2; Padang city to Bukittinggi, takes 92 KM
Stage 3A; Bukittinggi to Sawahluntp, takes 85 KM
Stage 3B; Sawahlunto to Singkarak lake, takes 93 KM
Stage 4; Singkarak lake to Kembar lake, back to Singkarak lake, takes 188 KM
Tour de Singkarak will cover of several region districts and districts on West Sumatra province, which were; Padang district, Solok region district, Solok district, Agam region district, Padang Panjang district, Bukittinggi district, Payakumbuh district, Limapuluh Kota region district, Tanah datar region district, Sawahlunto district, and Sawahlunto Sijunjung region district. It will present the exotic nature tourism of West Sumatra province.
