Solok city was located on 0°32″ of north latitude – 1°45″ of south latitude, and 100°27″ of east longitude – 101°41″ of east longitude with area 57.64 KM square. Solok is a district in West Sumatra, Indonesia. It is about 100 to 500 M from the sea level. There are three rivers across the city, which were; Batang Lembang river, Batang Gawan river, and Batang Air Bingguang river. Agriculture and farm are the most business in Solok. Solok city are a strategic place, which were located cross to west of Sumatra highway, and a gate to district/ region district which have an economic access to Solok city; which are Padang city, Padang Panjang city, Sawahlunto city, Sawahlunto Sijunjung region district, Tanah Datar region district, and Solok region District.
Solok city on the north side was bordered with Nagari Tanjung Bingkuang sub district, Aripan and Kuncir – Solok region district. On the south side bordered with Nagari Gaung sub district, Panyakalan, Koto Baru, Selayo – Solok region district. On the west side was bordered with Nagari Selayo sub district, Koto Sani – Solok region district. And on the east was bordered with Nagari Saok Laweh, Guguk Sarai and Gaung sub district of Solok region district.
Solok city have a tourism destination, which are; Kolam Pancing Pulau Belibis and Taman Pramuka (a fishing and picnic area), air terjun Sarasah/ Sarasah waterfall. For pilgrim, cultural and history tourism (Syech Sialahan Tomb, Surau Latiah, Rumah Gadang Gajah Maharam, Ampang Kualo horse race arena, Medan Nan Bapaneh (a wide open field where used for the Older to take a summit meeting), etc. /r.j
