Jembatan Akar locates in kampong Pulut-Pulut, North Bayang sub district. It is about 65 KM from Padang city and 24 KM from Painan, the capital of Pesisir Selatan region district. Jembatan Akar is a unique tourism object, it was formed by the braided roots of Beringin/ Ficus Benyamina tree, it is really look like a bridge, and under the bridge is flow a Bayang river.
Jembatan Akar was made by Pakiah Sokan in the year 1916, it was made to united 2 country district which was separated with the Bayang river. And by years it was become strong bridge, and beside that the local government cooperated with Andalas University Padang to maintenance the bridge, so till now we can see this phenomenal bridge. /r.j
