With area about 25.24 KM square and more than 100,000 lives of population, located arround 2 hours/ 90 KM from the capital of west sumatra province, padang city, it is a district, have sorrounding by three big mountain, which are singgalang mountain, merapi mountain, and sago mountain. And famous with the Jam Gadang right in the center of bukittinggi city, and Sianok Canyon. Also Fort De Kock fortress, the heritage of dutch invitation in bukittinngi, and Lobang Jepang which was the japan heritage for historical tourism.
Bukittinggi district, have a big potential for tourism destination in west sumatra. City with cozy weather, friendly citizen, and have a beautiful landscape. This city was also famous for shopping center with high quality product at Aur Kuning market. /r.j

The Sianok Canyon was a valey, located in the center area of bukittinggi city, west sumatra province, Indonesia. This valey was length and circle around from south of Koto Gadang canyon till Sianok enam Suku canyon, and ended into Palupuh. The view from Sianok canyon was so beautiful and exotic, it is become a tourism destination in west sumatra. On this canyon we can also canoing at sianok river./ r.j

Jam gadang is the landmark of Bukittinggi city, west sumatra province, Indonesia. It was built in 1926 by a native architec, named Yazid Sutan Gigi ameh, the first stone was taken by the first son of Rook Maker, in that time was about 6 years old. Jam gadang was a present from the Queen of England for the controleur. In dutch colony time jam gadang looks like a circle and the above was a statue of cock, while in japan invation jam gadang changed looks as a temple, and when Indonesia have a freedom, jam gadang looks changed again, and it become the ornament of the traditional minangkabau house/ rumah adat minang kabau.
There is a unique thing about jam gadang, as we known in rome code, 4 have a sign IV, but on this clock we will saw IIII. From the top of jam gadang we can see the view of bukittinggi area, merapi mountain, singgalang mountain, sago mountain, and sianok canyon. Nowdays there are a garden and plaza were been built, and many fasilities for tourism. It is a famous tourism destination in bukittinggi city. /r.j
