Cubadak Island

Pulau Cubadak/ Cubadak Island was in Mandeh territory, with area covered about 705 hectare, and known as Pulau Pinchnugan Talu/ Pincuran Orang Talu/ The Talu’s Douche. It is located in Koto XI Tarusan sub district, which is a west side of kampong Mandeh. It had a beautiful and exotic nature and sea view.  Sloping beach with soft white sands and beautiful shells to be found, also a clear blue water, it is good for  a beach picnic and snorkeling trip. It is a nice tourism destination to visit  on your next  summer holiday.

Cubadak Island had a few bays and capes, and the tourist named this island as “the paradise of the south”. On this island there is a resort, it had a cottage, made from a traditional material (rattan, woods and with thatch roof), with professional services. It is arrange by the international investor from Italy.
The tourism facilities are available and completed with hangar, yachts, cottages, restaurant, sanitation, telecommunication facility, radio and park. Cubadak Island is not too far from Carocok canal, it is about 1.5 KM. / r.j

Sikayan Balumuik Waterfall

This 90 m high waterfall is located on the slope of Bukit Barisan Mountain range, 17 kms east of Padang. On Sarasah Hill, Koto Baru Village Gadut, Pauh Prefecture.

To reach the fall one can take mini bus to Ulu Gadut or take a taxi. From Gadut by another mini bus the trip continues to Koto Baru. Arrive at the last station, the journey continues on food passing through walking path as far as  6 kilometers which lasts about  1.5 hours. Istano Basa Pagaruyuang/ The Palace Of Basa Pagaruyuang

The Palace of Basa Pagaruyuang is the icon of West Sumatra province tourism, which is the icon of mathernal cultural of Minangkabau. This palace is a duplicate of  The  Rajo Alam Pagaruyuang/ Ustano si Linduang Bulan that been fire by Dutch in 1804, and the real location is about 1 KM of duplicate Palace Of Basa Pagaruyuang.The Palace of Basa Pagaruyuang was built on 27 December 1976, have a 11 Gonjong, 72 pylons and 3rd floors, including Surau, Tabuah and Rangkiang Patah Sambilan.

This palace is also a museum of Minagkabau cultural. And on 27 february 2007 the Palace of Basa Pagaruyuang been fire again by nature accident, it is by lightning which been fire the roof of the palace that made by ijuk/ fibre of palm tree.A sadness moment for all Minangkabau societies. At present time the Palace of Basa Pagaruyuang is begin to rebuild, need help for everyone who care about Minangkabau cultural. /r.j

Tanah Datar Is All About

Tanah Datar is one of the  region district in West Sumatra province, Indonesia. Have covered about 133,600 hectare, with 70 rural district, 14 sub district, and the capital is situate on Batusangkar. Tanah Datar also known as central of Minangkabau culture, because it is the core  area of  Minangkabau itself; it is exactly at Dusun Tuo Pariangan in Pariangan sub district.The Tanah Datar region district was had a reward as seven best region district in Indonesia, this reward comes from International Partnership Institution and The British embassy, also The Indonesian Knowledge Institution nominate This region district as four of district which have best implementation of district autonomy issue.

Tanah Datar region district located among two mountains, which are Merapi mountain and Singgalang mountain. In geographical Tanah datar situating exactly in the middle of West Sumatra province, about 400 – 1000 above sea level,  dominant with hills and about two quarter of Singkarak lake. In the north side bordered with Agam and Lima Puluh Kota region district, in south bordered with Sawahlunto city and Solok regiom district, on the west side bordered with Padang Pariaman region district, and on the east side bordered with Sawahlunto Sijunjung region district. Tanah Datar have about 25 rivers, it is potential for agricultures, farms and also mine industries i.e. coals, gold, and sulphur. Tanah Datar also famous with the home industry of  fabric, it is known as tenunan pandai sikek.Luhak Nan Tigo is the other name of  Tanah Datar itself, it is potential also for nature, history, and cultural tourism, i.e. Istano Pagaruyuang, Balairung Sari, Batu Basurek, Ustano Rajo, Ngalau Pangian, Pantai Tanjung Mutiara, Balapan Kuda, Adu Kerbau and many more. /r.j

Aia Mancua Of Anai Valley

Aia mancua/ Fountain of Anai valley actually is a waterfall, situated on the highway of Padang – Padang Panjang. It is about two and half hours from Padang city, is easy to reach and to watch because the waterfall exactly took place side by side on the highway, so no matter you want or not you will watch this beautiful nature view.

Aia mancua of Anai valley is open for public, on holiday it will crowded with domestic tourist or even overseas. To coming into this area you will charge about 1,500 IDR. and you will allow to go for swim on the nature pool of the waterfall. It is a nice place for picnic and relaxing. /r.j

Lembah Harau

Lembah Harau/ Harau Valley located on 50 Kota region district, West Sumatra province. It is not to far from the capital city of 50 Kota region district, Tanjung Pati, and even from Payakumbuh city is about a half  hours.

Lembah Harau had two point of tourism object, one called Sarasah Bunta and the other Aka Barayun. At Sarasah Bunta there are five waterfall and at Aka Barayun just one waterfall. The water of waterfall is so cool and fresh, there are also some little fish living on the nature pool of waterfall. At Aka Barayun there are some facilities of tourism; i.e. cottage/ resort, mini zoo, a track of hiking, Bendi/ horse-cart the traditional vehicle, and also a butterfly farm. Adu kerbau/ Buffalo Fighting is a tradition in nagari Pandai Sikek, Marapi, and Aie Angek – Tanah Datar region district. In Minangkabau to having a buffalo is a precious and a privilege matter. Minangkabau itself form by words; Minang/ Menang/ Victorious and Kabau/ Kerbau/ Buffalo, so Minangkabau means the Victorious of Buffalo.
